Two hours later, Iris found herself outside Balustrades for You, the most popular balustrade business in New Melbourne. She stood at the door for a time, invisible once again, waiting for somebody to enter the building. It wasn’t long before a customer opened the door and Iris was able to slip in beside them.
She entered a grand display room filled with some of the most impressive examples of a glass balustrade she had ever seen. Iris had no idea it was possible to get glass so clear and well cut. Some of it had marvellous patterns that were pleasant to look at, while others had a simple brilliance to them.
Several people stood around the room, inspecting the magnificent balustrades. Iris had to pull her attention away from the displays, reminding herself that she had a mission to complete. Looking around for a way into the back of the building, she noticed that the only door was blocked by two security guards. She’d need to distract them to get through.
Still invisible, Iris reached into her backpack and pulled out a small hammer. Without mercy, she approached one of the display glass balustrades and smashed the hammer into it. The glass shattered with a piercing sound, now in a thousand pieces. To the others in the room, it would appear that the glass had shattered itself somehow. Good thing they were already at the best glass repair business near Melbourne.
The two security guards sprung to action, running forward to investigate the destruction. They looked around the room frantically, perhaps believing that someone had fired upon the glass from afar. While they were distracted, Iris strolled forward and slipped through the door, into the back of the glass manufacturing and installation business.
With the chaos of the showroom behind her, Iris started down the corridor, seeking answers to the question that had been bothering her all day. Was the Director of the Zircon Clan really as good as he made himself seem?
