Temperature conflict

I hate getting dressed for work. I have all these nice outfits that are professional and also represent my personality, but I can’t wear any of them to work. Believe it or not but I have rails of lovely blouses, shirts, skirts, knits, and trouser pants that I’m absolutely dying to mix and match but unfortunately am unable to. Curious as to why that may be? Well, I’ll tell you why. The temperate consistency in my office is non-existent. I believe it is a reasonable expectation that all offices everywhere should sit at 23 degrees Celsius at all times. In fact, 23 degrees Celsius has been recommended to be the ideal indoor temperature.

Unfortunately, the ideal temperature is not obtainable in my office because we’ve got a bunch of staff members who can’t keep their fingers off the heating and cooling dials. I swear every twenty minutes there’s someone either cracking the cooling as if they’re in the Sahara desert, or turning up the heat as if they’ve come in from a blizzard. I don’t see why they can’t all accept that if we leave the settings at a neutral temperature, we’ll all be comfortable. They already broke the heating system once. Only six months ago we had to call up for the best heating services and repairs near Canberra. Luckily they were able to sort the issue out. I dare you to take a guess at what the issue was. That’s right, ‘too much temperature tampering’. No one touched the dials for about two weeks, then randomly one Wednesday the good old dance of the ‘degrees Celsius’ kicked into gear again. I swear my puffer jacket took part in an on and off cycle with my body about six times until I eventually had enough and kept the jacket on for the rest of the day in protest.

It’s been two months since the repair and guess what? We need to book another ducted heating service. Canberra has some absolute nincompoops working in the corporate world. Our jobs involve running the country but no one can agree on temperature!
