Well, I had a feeling this would happen. I was hoping I could get back to my exciting life of novel writing, but here I am doing something perfectly normal again. Writing a blog post – how trite. I used to do this a lot, but then I got into my novel writing and now it just doesn’t feel right. When I signed my publishing deal, I thought I’d never have to come back to something as basic as blogging, but lately, there have been some major issues with the publisher, which means I can’t advance the story at all. My editor is waiting for updates, but I can’t provide updates because I can’t write ahead. It’s very frustrating.
Anyway, the other day I wrote about how I’d gone to an auto shop near my home, and wouldn’t you know it, I found myself at the mechanic’s shop again earlier today. This time I was driving through Ringwood when my brake started making some odd sounds. I figured I probably shouldn’t put off a brake repair, Ringwood supposedly has the best auto shop around and I needed to get some lunch anyway, so I took my car in for some repairs.
Let me tell you, they (whoever ‘they’ is) turned out to be completely correct. It really is the best auto workshop around. I didn’t even have to leave the car workshop to get my lunch! There was a cafe right there in the building – how cool is that? If you’re ever looking for a mechanic near Ringwood and are hungry for a bite to eat as well, you can’t go wrong with this place. They got my brakes fixed up before I could even finish my sausage roll. Now that’s what I call quality service!
Now I’m back home, fidgeting about because I really just want to be continuing my epic novel about underground society after the surface world collapsed due to several reasons, but mostly because people suck and giant cockroaches suck worse. Hopefully, I can get back to it soon.
