Right, as some of you may know, I had a head injury months ago. For those who have missed my earlier blogs about the injury, I’ll try to get you back up to speed. Basically, I was very unwell earlier this year and collapsed on top of a staircase. As I fell down the staircase, my head had several aggressive impacts with the wall, railing and eventually the hardwood floor. I was rushed to hospital with a concussion which then resulted in me suffering from intense headaches, brain fog and clouded vision for months on end. My eyes felt like they couldn’t focus and would strain a lot during the day. I constantly found myself putting off my professional eye test. Brighton is a lovely suburb, but it is a little bit far from me. No doubt this came into why I kept putting off my eye test. On top of this, I was also terrified of seeing the eye doctor and finding out that I’ve got some permanent brain damage that’s going to result in vision loss. I know this probably sounds like a ridiculous concern, but so many things can go wrong with a head injury.
Following my appointment, we have a reasonable belief that the head injury has interfered with my eyesight. The doctor seems to think that the injury has blurred my vision. This blurry vision is causing my eyes to strain and try to overcompensate for what they can’t see, and this straining is causing headaches. It’s looking a lot like I’m going to have to be someone who wears glasses from now on. Once again, I’m going to book an optometrist appointment. Bentleigh has an optometrist that I noticed has some lovely looking glasses in their store. If I’m going to have to wear glasses everyday from now on, I at least want glasses that are still going to make me look somewhat attractive. I always thought glasses were for nerds and dorks. I guess karma has gotten back to me for that way of thinking! You can all expect some nerdy photos of me soon!
